Churchville

Churchville, a quaint suburban hamlet in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, is a designated heritage community under the Ontario Heritage Act. Founded in 1815 by Amaziah Church, Churchville was centered around his gristmill on the Credit River. Over time, the village grew to include homes, churches, schools, and businesses like a slaughterhouse and tannery. Although some structures no longer exist, several heritage houses still stand in the area. In 1974, Churchville became part of the City of Brampton as part of Peel County's restructuring into the Regional Municipality of Peel.

Springdale, an old rural community of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, covers 4,000 acres and is located in the northern part of the city. Springdale's history dates back to the 1820s when the hamlet of Stanley's Mills was established. Today, Springdale is a suburban community planned in the 1980s, and construction began in 1991. It is sometimes referred to as Singhdale due to its large population of Sikh Canadians. Springdale features residential and commercial areas, including the Trinity Common Mall and the Save Max Sports Centre. The area also includes the Brampton Civic Hospital, two fire stations, and a paramedic station. The Springdale branch of the Brampton Library opened in 2018.

Claireville

Claireville is a district of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and the westerly extension of the Claireville neighbourhood of Toronto. The former hamlet of Ebenezer is found within Claireville. Agricultural lands primarily dominate the region, with small pockets of industrial and estate residential areas. Riverstone Golf and Country Club and Indian Line Campground are the area's only non-industrial or residential uses.

Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is a neighbourhood located in the northwestern portion of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Once a rural hamlet surrounded by agricultural lands, the area has experienced rapid suburban growth since the opening of the Mount Pleasant GO Station in 2006. Retail amenities have since opened in the area, and the public library has opened up both floors, using a reconstructed historic CPR station structure as a cultural facility in the Mount Pleasant Civic Square shared with the Peel District School Board. Mount Pleasant Village Public School offers grades K-8 and is located adjacent to the library.

Snelgrove

Snelgrove, a former hamlet in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, was originally known as Edmonton after the hometown of local settlers. Today, it is located at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Mayfield Road and straddles the border between Brampton and Caledon. Snelgrove was renamed in the 1880s by the Canadian Pacific Railway to avoid confusion with another CPR stop in Edmonton, Alberta. The area is linked to the Snell family and received the most rainfall of any Canadian location when Hurricane Hazel struck Ontario in 1954. Highway 410 has been extended to a new terminus in Snelgrove, and businesses in the area include a Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys, and Tim Hortons. The Canadian Pacific Railway line from Streetsville to Owen Sound passed through Snelgrove, and there was a station for passenger trains.

Chinguacousy Township

Chinguacousy Township, a former municipality and geographic township in the Regional Municipality of Peel, Ontario, Canada, was split in half when Peel County became the Regional Municipality of Peel in 1973. The southern half, along with the township of Toronto Gore, joined the city of Brampton. Several villages were once located within Chinguacousy Township, with only remnants such as churches and cemeteries still existing. Bramalea, Canada's first satellite city, was formed in Chinguacousy Township. The township was named in honour of an Anishinaabe chief, Shingwauk, and his name lives on in present-day Brampton in places like Chinguacousy Park, Chinguacousy Road, and Chinguacousy Secondary School.
